You can start with the introduction and decide later if you want to do the rest of Module one or/and the full training.

If you would like a free of charge session with me to see if this training would be a good fit for you, you can choose this option in the sessions booking form

The next training in groups starts
in 2025

More information, and dates and times for each course can be found below

Read what former students say about the training

There needs to be a minimum of 4 participants for the training to start. Maximum participants in the courses: 8
NB! Modules 1 and 2 (the full 60-hour training) are prerequisite for starting the track to becoming a Focusing Teacher/Practitioner

Module one: The Basics of Felt Sensing and With-Sensing

Prerequisites: None.
There are no prerequisites for starting the module, but each course builds on the previous one, so course two has the Introduction course as prerequisite etc.

Requirements: a stabile internet connection and video option on your device

This module teaches you the basics of Felt Sensing and With-Sensing and consists of one individual session with your teacher and three courses:

  1. Introduction to Felt Sensing and With-Sensing (Focusing and Listening)
  2. The With-Senser (Listener)
  3. The Body in Felt Sensing

Together, those three courses give a basic knowledge of the process’ beginning, middle and end, initial knowledge of Felt Sense, Felt Shift and other kinds of inner experiences we might encounter. How to support the process in an open, welcoming and non-intrusive way, and insight in to the background philosophy of the method.

There are two possible tracks to follow after the basics:

  • Module two: Intermediary Felt Sensing and With-Sensing – which gives a certificate of Felt Sensing and With-Sensing (required for going on to the Trainer in Training track)
  • The Proficiency in Focusing Partnership track – for those who only wish to use Focusing for themselves, and so be able to exchange with a Focusing Partner and be part of the International Focusing Institute’s Partnership Pool

Read more about what the International Focusing Institute requires for the Proficiency in Focusing Partnership.

Module two: Certificate of Felt Sensing and With-Sensing skills

Prerequisites: Module one or equivalent with a Certified Focusing Professional (CFP)

Requirements: a stabile internet connection and video option on your device

This module takes you deeper into the Felt Sensing and With-Sensing and strengthens the process both from the Felt Senser and the With-Senser’s side. It consists of these three courses:

  1. The Space of not Knowing
  2. Critical voices and other obstacles in Felt Sensing
  3. Focusing modalities and the World
Plus partnership of 1,5 hours between classes.

Together, the three courses allow you to really get a grasp on Felt Sense and Felt Shifts, you learn more possibilities for strengthening yourself and supporting you r partner in the process, they offer ways to handle troubles one might encounter in the process, plus insight into some other modalities found in the Focusing world. The module can lead to certification

The module is the next step for those who wish to go further with Felt Sensing and With-Sensing:

  • for your own interest and practice,
  • to have more tools to handle obstacles in the process, both as a Felt Senser and a With-Senser,
  • for Felt Sensing (Focusing Literacy) and becoming a safe, supporting and non-intrusice With-Senser (Listener) to someone who is Focusing Literate
  • for going on to the Trainer in Training track to become a Certified Focusing Professional (CPF).

The full Training is equivalent to what some CFP’s call Focusing and Listening Skills, or “levels” etc., and gives you access to several advanced Focusing courses

The full Training is the requirement for starting the Teacher Training for those who want to be able to teach this process to others.

Finishing the Certificate also gives you automatic eligibility for being awarded the Proficiency in Focusing Partnership and hence the option to join The International Focusing Institute Partnership Pool.

You will get to know the interesting way of listening without being responsible, and the liberation of being of help without having to know details of the other person’s content.

Based on self-guidance we explore ways of responding and reflecting as ways of supporting the Felt Senser without being intrusive to, but rather trusting in, the process.

3. The Body in Felt Sensing

This is the third of the 3 courses of Modle One of the Felt Sensing and With-Sensing Training. In this course we learn what “body” and “surroundings” are in Felt Sensing, and go deeper into “togetherness” and the “We-space”.

We get to know more about why and how Gendlin claims that we can know “more” with our body than with our minds, and why it is useful to turn towards that which has not yet formed. We will discover that it is not necessary to be verbal or to always have to put into words what arises in Felt Sensing.

One goal is to get to feel more safe in your own body through Felt Sensing, and with your own expressions and feelings, as well as being in a “we”, both in Sensing Partnership and in life in general.

Prerequisite: Having completed the two first courses of this training, or equivalent.
People with someone else’s full Focusing training, who want to continue but prefer not to start at the beginning can contact me to start my training from here.

Topics

  • What is “the body” in Felt Sensing?
  • The connection to the world in Felt Sensing
  • How to be with that which comes without words
  • Gestures, movements and positions in Felt-Sensing
